Position Summary

The Coordinator of Industry Relations position requires organization, multi-tasking, strong attention to detail, and an aptitude for creating and following schedules. Responsibilities include supporting the sale and delivery of programs and services offered to industry and other stakeholders, with a focus on members of the SGO Industry Corporate Council (ICC), and supporting industry as the primary liaison for inquires received through the Business Development and Industry Relations mailbox. The Coordinator of Industry Relations will personify the SGO/Foundation internal values of Service Excellence, Respect, Accountability and Quality.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Support all aspects of the Industry Corporate Council (ICC) program, including:
    • Administering processes, program evaluations, or collecting data
    • Tracking invoices and managing the invoice process
    • Scheduling and logistics of monthly and annual meetings between ICC partners and SGO leadership.
    • Coordinating and documenting learnings from meetings.
    • Working on new sales presentations
    • Preparing summary reports for volunteer leaders for Board discussions.
  • Conduct careful and responsible coordination of benefits for corporate partners, ensuring support and services are clearly communicated, tracked, utilized, and regularly evaluated.
  • Assist in the management of corporate support pipeline related to SGO/Foundation activities, prospective relationships, and recordkeeping.
  • Assist in the development and execution of exhibitor, sponsorship, and industry supported symposia packages and sales materials for all SGO/Foundation events.
  • Coordinate SGO/Foundation industry sales contracting, tracking, and invoicing, and serve as a point of contact for industry sales and onsite assistance, as assigned.
  • Assist with support and delivery of industry education sessions, including speaker expense tracking and reimbursement and on-site attendance, as assigned.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of industry partners objectives and develop abilities to see the intersections between those objectives and SGO/Foundation strategic plans and programs.
  • Maintain regular reporting and reconcile income reports with oversight from the Sr. Manager of Business Development & Industry Relations.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries sent to the Business Development & Industry Relations Department inbox (bdir@sgo.org).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager of Business Development & Industry Relations.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Experience in industry relations at a medical society.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced MS Office user.
  • Preferred: AMS user experience.
  • Preferred: Salesforce user experience.
  • Preferred: Project Management Software user experience.
  • Preferred: Volunteer management experience.

Physical Demands

The nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.  Requires ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an exchange of information; collect, compile, and prepare work documents; set-up and maintain work files.  Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Occasional day and overnight travel by air and/or automobile may be required. Travel is approximately 5-10 days per year. Use of the computer, with repetitive motion, is approximately 80%.
