Physician Assistant/ Clinical Assistant - Mental Health CRC - 20074597 Description: The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a part-time position in the Mental Health Program at the Crisis Response Centre, Winnipeg, MB. Job Description: Annual Hours: 2080. Responsibilities: The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic, therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties include performing history and physical exams in a variety of settings such as the Emergency Department and wards, and following patients in pre/peri/postoperative wards and/or other clinical settings. Assistants will attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters; methods may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where available. Assistants must communicate effectively in English with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, accompanied by a benefits package. Qualifications Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant. Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment. Prior experience preferred. Physician Assistants Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM. Clinical Assistants Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad. Must have at least one of the following: Clinical Assistant Assessment. NAC OSCE. LMCC. This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Checks. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment and/or to provide evidence of educational achievements.
