Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures.

As a MLS, you will be required:

To understand method principles
Perform quality control & calibrations
Operate preventive maintenance
Analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution
Bachelor's degree with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry, obtained within or in addition to the degree is also acceptable
For non-CLS/MT degrees, one year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required

Preferred:

Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency

Other Information

40 hours a week
3 (13 hour) shifts: 6 pm - 7 am or 4 (10 hour) shifts: 5:30 pm - 4 am or 9 pm - 7 am
Required to work rotational weekends and holidays
