Director, Account Management – Insurance & Healthcare Job Description Summary A strategic, senior leadership role responsible for driving PayPal’s growth in the insurance and healthcare industries. The director defines and executes vertical strategy, deepens relationships with enterprise clients, and ensures applicable solutions meet unique industry needs. Reporting directly to the VP of Large Enterprise, the director partners cross‑functionally with Product, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Data Science, and Operations to deliver sustainable, compliant growth. Essential Responsibilities Develop and influence business strategies for organizational success. Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership. Lead initiatives that drive significant business impact. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align strategies. Monitor industry trends to inform strategic decisions. Own and drive growth strategy across healthcare and insurance while ensuring alignment with PayPal’s objectives. Deeply understand regulatory environments, procurement processes, and enterprise client needs. Lead a high‑performing team of account managers and business development professionals, setting priorities, coaching, and ensuring consistent execution. Establish and maintain executive‑level relationships with key merchants. Oversee negotiations of complex commercial agreements, ensuring mutual value and adherence to policies. Monitor portfolio performance and ensure strong execution on revenue retention, cross‑sell, and expansion. Champion operational excellence to support large strategic accounts. Build and scale account strategies tailored to vertical dynamics. Establish portfolio pricing practices to keep loss rates below plan. Lead renewal and churn mitigation strategies. Foster a culture of collaboration and integrate with cross‑functional stakeholders. Advocate for merchant needs, driving innovation and market‑aligned solutions. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in payments, e‑commerce, or fintech, with 5+ years directly leading teams or portfolios within high‑risk or highly regulated verticals. Expertise in dynamic pricing schemes, real‑time data platforms, and operational technical levers required to scale responsibly. Proven track record of closing $100M+ multi‑product commercial deals with C‑suite stakeholders. Proven people leader who scales high‑performing groups while maintaining velocity and cohesion. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Strategic and analytical thinker capable of identifying growth opportunities and solving complex challenges. Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce for pipeline management and forecasting.
