Hamm Institute for American Energy - Technical Project Manager Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Appointment Length: Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice. Hiring Range: $80,000 - $120,000. About This Position The Technical Project Manager will support the Hamm Institute for American Energy (HIAE) by providing program management, data reporting for sponsored research, program fiscal management, program contract support, and administrative operations. This role will serve as a key point of coordination for these activities between the HIAE team and the Research programs both internally and externally to OSU, ensuring alignment with its strategic priorities, culture, and operational structure. The position will focus on providing technical support for program management and project execution while fostering a collaborative environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date). Three years of related experience, including research, program or project management, grant reporting, or technical operations. Demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional teams and technical initiatives. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Salesforce) and technical software applications. Experience working in research and development organizations or energy‑related industries. Strategic thinker with a strong ability to align technical work with organizational goals. Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with excellent analytical skills. Collaborative and team‑focused, with initiative in coordinating diverse responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to dynamic environments. Self‑motivated with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. Preferred Qualifications Master's or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related STEM discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree with commensurate experience in a related role. Ten years of experience in research, program or project management, grant reporting, or technical operations; demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional teams and technical initiatives. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Salesforce) and technical software applications. Experience working in research and development organizations or energy‑related industries. Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma). The ideal candidate excels in a fast‑moving environment that values agility and responsiveness, and balances competing priorities to deliver high‑quality work on tight timelines.
