United States – Upper Providence, PA or Waltham, MA (minimum two days a week on site required) Senior Medical Director, Clinical Development – Rheumatology/Immunology We are seeking an experienced physician to lead clinical and scientific strategies for advanced‑stage assets in immunology and fibrosis. The role will shape treatment for complex diseases by steering the development of new, established, and emerging indications within the immunology and fibrosis portfolio. Key Responsibilities Lead the end‑to‑end clinical development strategy for a drug or program, managing specific plans for products and/or indications. Oversee the Integrated Evidence Plan (IEP) and Clinical Development Plan (CDP), including component trials and the Target Medicine Profile (TMP). Ensure clinical study designs align with the IEP and CDP, integrating scientific rationale, regulatory requirements, product development, and commercial goals. Establish and deliver clinical development timelines, defining key decision points and Go/No‑Go criteria. Collaborate with Commercial, Research, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Statistics, and other internal teams, serving as the clinical point of contact for senior management. Contribute to strategic and organizational initiatives in Clinical Development, including Business Development and due diligence projects. Build and manage external relationships with scientific experts to align programs with business strategy and patient needs. Assess and mitigate risks, evaluate technical success probabilities, and identify opportunities that deliver significant patient benefits. Support global regulatory submissions and interactions, including briefing documents and responses. Champion innovative methods and processes within clinical development, fostering stakeholder engagement and business solutions. Basic Qualifications Medical degree with board certification in Rheumatology or Allergy/Immunology. Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with clinical drug development in Rheumatology or Immunology. Proven track record in planning clinical development for a Rheumatology or Immunology asset or indication. Experience with Phase 2 and Phase 3 trial design, initiation, execution, and closure. Experience with global regulatory filings and submissions. Knowledge of immunologic‑mediated diseases, underlying biology, and therapeutic targets. Preferred Qualifications Deep experience in Rheumatology, Autoimmune disorders, or the Neuroinflammation space. Solid understanding of regulator, payer, and prescriber priorities in relevant markets. Collaborative experience working with multiple stakeholders on complex projects. Record of building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. Compensation & Benefits The U.S. annual base salary for this position ranges from $270,600 to $451,000. In addition, the role offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in GSK’s share‑based long‑term incentive program. Benefits include health care, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver, parental, and medical leave. Salary ranges are determined based on location, experience, and market rates.
