OverviewTechnical Leadership Advisor - Oracle Database. Oracle is seeking a Technical Leadership Advisor focused on Oracle Database, with a blend of technical depth and business acumen to prioritize work across Oracle's database offerings and future technology states, including evolving AI perspectives.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Expertise (Especially in RDBMS): Deep hands-on experience with major RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2) or newer cloud-native RDBMS like Amazon Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, or Azure SQL; database architecture, performance tuning, data modeling (OLTP and OLAP), and strong SQL/query optimization.High availability, replication, disaster recovery, and backup strategies; understanding NoSQL vs RDBMS trade-offs; experience with migration strategies (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL, on-prem to cloud).Strategic & Architectural Thinking: Design data architectures for enterprise-scale applications; familiarity with data governance, data lineage, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA); assess and align technology decisions with business objectives; evaluate buy vs build and vendor solutions.Chief of Staff Skills: Act as a force multiplier for the CTO or Chief Architect; lead initiatives and coordinate across multiple technical teams; strong written and verbal communication for executive artifacts and detailed technical docs; cross-functional influence across engineering, operations, product, and customer-facing roles; prioritization, project planning, and follow-through.Leadership & Soft Skills: Trusted advisor to senior tech leaders; mentor engineers; effective meeting facilitation and conflict resolution; diplomacy and discretion in sensitive conversations.Qualifications10–20+ years in software engineering / database administration / data architecture roles.Previously a Principal Engineer, Database Architect, Data Platform Lead, or Engineering Manager for data-heavy systems.Experience in cloud-native architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure), especially with managed RDBMS services.Comfortable reading multiple programming languages such as C or C++.Bonus: Experience in a Chief Architect or Technical Advisor role in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.Role DetailsEmployment type: Full-timeSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelJob function: Business Development and SalesIndustries: IT Services and IT ConsultingCompensation and BenefitsUS: Hiring range in USD from $136,600 to $338,500 per year; may be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; disability and life insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays; paid sick leave; parental leave; adoption assistance; employee stock purchase plan; financial planning and group legal; voluntary benefits (auto, homeowner, pet insurance).About UsAs a world leader in cloud solutions, Oracle uses tomorrow’s technology to tackle today’s challenges.
