ASW Analyst

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a Mid-Level ASW Analyst to support the US Navy Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (SHAREM) at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA. This position is associated with an upcoming contract that THOR is pursuing, with an estimated award/work start late 2025. We are conducting preliminary, “contingent” hiring for roles associated with this contract. The work start is dependent upon THOR being awarded this contract. Typical Responsibilities Design test and data collection plans for exercises Lead observer/coordinator aboard exercise units for observation and data collection efforts supporting exercise reconstruction Develop exercise messages Reconstruct exercise events Analyze exercise results IAW the Analysis Plan Primary author of analytical reports, such as Reconstruction and Analysis, Cross or Focused Study and Annual Reports Assist in obtaining clearances necessary to install equipment in U.S. Navy ships and aircraft Location: Onsite at Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) in San Diego, CA. Travel Requirements Up to 20% travel is anticipated to include CONUS and OCONUS locations. Typical Physical Activity Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: repetitive motion, traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches), speaking or vision. Typical Pay Range The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $75,000 - $105,000/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience. Existing Security Clearance Required This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim security clearance. A candidate with especially strong, relevant experience but no active security clearance may still be considered, but work start would be dependent upon a new Secret clearance being awarded. Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Six (6) years of Navy experience relating to ship/submarine/aircraft operations and warfare tasks Two (2) years of experience in managing Undersea Warfare (USW) projects or programs Capability for preparation of briefings, reports, and correspondence that are technically correct. Excellent analytical problem-solving skills Experience in the use of analytical software tools such as Matlab, Statistical Analysis Software, and Microsoft Excel. Proficient with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite. Excellent communication skills.
