Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Senior Revenue Manager, the Charge Capture Coordinator ensures accurate and timely medical service and procedure charge capture within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role is integral to optimizing charge reconciliation, auditing, and maintaining financial integrity within Student Health operations.
Top Required Skills
  1. Experience: 2 years in healthcare disciplines such as hospital/medical office settings, charge entry, or medical records.
  2. Data Entry: Proven accuracy and efficiency in data entry tasks.
  3. Microsoft Office: Proficient use of Excel, Word, and other MS Office tools.
Top Preferred Skills
  1. Familiarity with computerized billing systems (e.g., Point n Click, Epic, Cerner).
  2. Basic knowledge of coding standards and practices.
  3. Strong customer service abilities, particularly in resolving billing inquiries.
Daily Responsibilities
  1. Process daily charge tickets for services rendered.
  2. Manage communications via email and chat platforms.
  3. Conduct interdepartmental billing monthly.
  4. Handle batch payment posting.
  5. Prepare and verify credit card deposit records.
Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
Job Responsibilities
  • Charge Authorization: Ensure accurate and timely input of medical service charges into the EHR system.
  • Reconciliation: Cross-reference department records and billing reports to capture missed charges.
  • Auditing: Identify and correct charge entry errors, resubmit rejected charges, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communication: Collaborate with staff to address missing documentation or entry issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to optimize charge capture efficiency and accuracy.
Onboarding Requirements

Medical Clearance:
  1. Immunizations: Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
  2. TB Testing: Annual test; chest X-ray required for positive TB history.
  3. Drug Screening: 10-panel test for specified substances.
  4. Influenza Vaccine: Current flu season compliance (11/1 to 4/30); exemptions allowed.
  5. COVID-19 Vaccine: Full vaccination required, with accepted exemptions (medical/religious).

Background Verification:
  • Social Security Trace.
  • 7-year federal, county criminal checks, and healthcare sanctions screening.
Other:
  • HIPAA compliance.
  • Completion of harassment and discrimination training.
