We are recruiting a rehab psychologist, health psychologist, or neuropsychologist to join our team.
We offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and promote a healthy work-life balance. This is a full-time, Mon-Fri position. The position includes a gratis appointment with the University of Louisville, Department of Neurological Surgery, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
The Psychology Department is located at Frazier Rehab Institute, which is part of the UofL Health system. University of Louisville Physicians Group (ULP) employs the psychologists that provide care within the UofL Health network. ULP offers a very competitive salary and benefit package, commensurate with experience. We are looking for delightful, dynamic people to help us grow our team.
WHO WE ARE
UofL Health: Through our affiliation with the University of Louisville, UofL Health is a fully integrated academic health system with eight hospitals, four medical centers, Brown Cancer Center, Eye Institute, nearly 200 physician practice locations, and more than 1,000 providers. UofL Health is focused on one mission: to transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care.
FRAZIER REHAB: Over the past six decades, Frazier Rehab Institute has built its reputation as the regional leader in comprehensive acute rehab. Our 135-bed inpatient acute rehab hospital is located in downtown Louisville. Frazier offers continuum-based therapy across a number of CARF-accredited specialties, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke and other neurological disorders, for inpatient and outpatient, community-based rehab needs. The outpatient Spinal Cord Program is nationally recognized and renowned for both pediatric and adult care.
PSYCHOLOGY DEPT: The team is comprised of two administrative and seven clinical staff members, including three neuropsychologists, one rehab psychologist, two psychometrists, and a rehab psychology fellow. Frazier Rehab Institute has recently become part of UofL Health and is primed for growth and development.
LOUISVILLE: Its the perfect city; it offers midwestern sensibilities, southern charm and artsy vibes. Its just the right size; the greater metro area has 1.2 million people, so not too big or too small. Location, location, locationLouisville is conveniently located to access about half of the US within a days drive. US News & World Report named Louisville one of the Best Places to Live in the US, with the cost of living well below the national average.
Louisville has something to offer everyone. There is a rich and diverse arts scene in the city, and it houses the KY Center for the Arts, Actors Theatre and the JB Speed Art Museum. According to Zagat and Southern Living, Louisville was named one of the Top Foodie Destinations in the World. Additionally, Kentucky is home to many bourbon distilleries and craft breweries.
Louisville is a wonderful place for outdoor enthusiasts, whether you like to hike, kayak, bike or run. There are many beautiful parks, the Louisville Loop (a 100-mile trail that will encircle the city and link existing parks together) and nearby lakes. Louisville offers something for sports fans too. Its home to Louisville City Football Club and Racing Louisville (professional soccer), Louisville Bats (minor league baseball), all the University of Louisville college athletics, as well as the Kentucky Derby.
WHAT WE NEED
The rehab psychologists provide psychological evaluation, individual/ family/ group therapy, and consultation for health behavior assessment and intervention. Referrals primarily come from our inpatient acute rehabilitation facility, for a diverse population of all ages. Secondarily, there may be potential to provide outpatient services for patients with ongoing needs. They collaborate with university and academic programs to provide support for specialty clinics.
An integral component of this position is collaborating with the interdisciplinary rehab team, including physicians, physical/ occupational/ speech/ pulmonary/recreational therapists, dieticians, nurses, patients and families, and community resources. The psychologists are highly regarded by the physicians and treatment team at Frazier.
There is an opportunity to provide training and clinical supervision for graduate students through our relationships with nearby clinical psychology doctoral programs, as well as our postdoctoral fellows.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology program and an internship, preferably with experience in rehabilitation, health, or neuropsychology. Post-doctoral training and specialty board eligibility are strongly desired. Eligibility for licensure and health service provider status in Kentucky is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with the AHA is also required.
Both early and mid-career psychologists are invited to apply. Additionally, consideration will be given to a delayed start in fall of 2024 for strong candidates, so current postdocs are encouraged to apply as well.
