About the Job The Gemini Command Line Interface (CLI) is the foundational, high‑velocity developer interface for accessing Google’s GenAI tools and cloud services. This role defines the CLI’s long‑term roadmap, positioning it as the definitive, friction‑less gateway for enterprise developers building with Gemini. This Director role owns outlook, strategy, and execution for the Gemini CLI portfolio, delivering significant product impact across Google’s suite of developer tools. The role reports to the Senior Director of Product Management, Developer Tools and Operations in Google Cloud. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 15+ years of Product Management experience, 5+ years managing product portfolios and teams. Experience overseeing product development for developer tools, cloud‑native platforms, or core infrastructure products with a focus on Generative AI. Preferred Qualifications Experience driving open‑source strategy and building developer communities. Track record setting and driving product outlook and strategy across multiple product areas. Experience with foundational developer tools such as CLIs or IDEs, and understanding of developer experience. Proficiency in product analysis and strategic insights (market sizing, competitive analysis, long‑term monetization). Technical understanding of AI orchestration frameworks, agent systems, and automation across the full SDLC. Ability to collaborate across functions to drive business model innovation and product‑led growth monetization. Responsibilities Conceptualize and set the overall product outlook and narrative for the Gemini CLI. Establish and deliver a shared outlook across Google through cross‑product collaborations and alignment of team directions. Own the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals, competitive landscape, and customer insights. Oversee all product development and lifecycle management, including launches, maintenance, and strategic deprecation or consolidation of features. Lead and develop a high‑performing product management team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Compensation and Benefits US base salary range: $272,000–$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation details reflect base salary only; benefits are detailed on the Google careers site.
