Job Description - Custodial Team Member General Duties: The chief responsibilities of the custodial team member are to maintain the building's

cleanliness and deliver building related services.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Clean and sanitize the surfaces of common spaces
  • Maintain trash receptacles, restroom and classroom dispensers
  • Vacuum/mop floors
  • Perform light maintenance duties
  • Assist with movement of furniture or equipment
  • Additional items as requested by administration

    Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in custodial work or a related field is highly preferred
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers

    Personal Qualifications
  • Shows evidence of a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Attends a church with a doctrinal statement in alignment with Lakewood Park
  • Understands and protects the confidential nature of the information entrusted to him/her
  • Values life-long learning and has a teachable spirit
  • Works well both independently and in a team environment

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and carry tools and other items. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    Supervision and Evaluation

    The custodial team member is supervised and evaluated by the Facilities Director.
