The Town of Cohasset is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) to work in its Tree and park Department. Reporting to the Foreman and serving as part of an integrated Public Works operation, the Tree & Park HEO will perform skilled manual work in operating heavy equipment used in constructing, maintaining, and repairing Tree & Park equipment. Work includes the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles. Requirements: High school diploma, or the equivalent in experience, and a minimum of and two (2) years of advanced technical/vocational training and experience in the operation of heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Class B CDL driver's license paid for by the town provided the candidate agrees to at least 3 years of employment.Hoisting Engineer's 2B, 4E and 4G licensesA valid DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or willing to obtain upon hireSafe and effective heavy equipment operation techniques and practicesThis position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and is 40-hours per week, Monday- Friday. Salary: $27.69 per hour (with CDL), $25.18 (without CDL) with annual performance-based step increases and cost-of-living (COLA); Cohasset offers a comprehensive benefits package.
