The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering care to patients experiencing respiratory difficulties.

This role involves providing respiratory services as directed by the attending physician, aiming to enhance the quality of life for patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Registration and Board Certification in Respiratory Therapy are mandatory. A valid state license is required. A minimum of two years of experience in acute care settings is essential.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, physicians, and Hospice Savannah staff, along with exceptional customer service, assessment, and documentation abilities, are required.

The candidate must be capable of establishing productive relationships with a diverse patient and family demographic, necessitating excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a professional demeanor.

Current CPR certification is necessary. A valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database systems are essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position necessitates moderate visual focus for documentation and computer tasks. There is a potential risk of exposure to infectious diseases, requiring adherence to standard safety protocols. The role may involve lifting up to 20 lbs., with no heavy lifting expected.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role operates on an as-needed basis, with occasional after-hours commitments for meetings or events.

The Respiratory Therapist may be called upon to provide care in areas designated as high-risk by local authorities.

This position may encounter emotionally charged situations with patients and their families concerning end-of-life care, necessitating the ability to document patient and family interactions accurately, promptly, and clearly using a computer.

The Therapist will conduct client visits using their personal vehicle, requiring a moderate amount of travel that may exceed 200 miles weekly.
