We are seeking a Designer to join our team You will be responsible for providing design/sales support by way of Design Services, Furniture Specification, Customer Service, Quoting, Marketing, and overall Product/Manufacturer Expertise.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Specialist in MFG products & services.
  • Product specification.
  • Space plan.
  • Be apart of client meetings with sales.
  • Work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Also works in collaboration with sales to establish the client's design requirements, goals, and directions of the project; Recommends design solutions, provides value engineering if needed.
  • Ensures design plans are code compliant and shares information with client.
  • Manages projects and work activities against tight deadlines and departmental priorities while showing the ability to adjust to changes as needed to support the business and achieve company and the customers’ goals. Being flexible to help the team succeed is important.
  • Maintains adequate error ratio on all design projects - follows design check list.
  • Contributes to process and product improvements by making suggestions and implementing changes.
  • Monitor industry trends and use them to create and educate.
  • Document and update customer records/projects through company CRM software (Pipedrive).
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and team members and grow those relationships.
  • Provide Marketing and Graphics Support for the sales team.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Timely and responsive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 2 years of design and space planning experience with projects of increased complexity in a same or similar industry.
  • High level of technical credibility and professional excellence, having depth of judgment, knowledge, and technical skill critical for the position.
  • Depth of knowledge with many of the furniture lines. Expert at pushing the boundaries of standard product application.
  • Skilled in the design process to organize workflow and make suggestions for improvement while acting as a resource and mentor to other Designers.
  • Consistently applies electronic file naming and saving conventions.
  • Demonstrating customer focus by providing excellent service and satisfaction to both internal and external clients. Clearly articulating what can be done to meet client needs, offering innovative/creative solutions to problems, and explaining rationale for decisions/outcomes.
  • Workload management, effectively handling competing priorities and urgent situations, making sound decisions within short timeframes, and taking appropriate action.
  • Time management, expertly allocating time to planning, thinking, and mapping out tasks to meet the desired results.
  • Proactively identifying potential problems and offering creative solutions and alternatives. Evaluating alternative courses of action and implementing solutions and measuring results.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university or architectural or interior design school or 2 years of related experience or more, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous furniture dealer or manufacturer experience preferred.
