Program Director, AFRL Regional Network Mid-Atlantic

Overview Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Regional Network – Mid‑Atlantic (RNMA) at Cornell University is seeking a Program Director to coordinate collaboration, track performance, and build coalitions. Responsibilities Manage and optimize RNMA engagement with AFRL enterprise, Air Force, Space Force, and stakeholders. Recruit, energize, and stimulate translational collaboration among colleges, universities, defense contractors, and early‑stage companies. Lead partnership funding program, encourage multi‑organizational research teams, and provide mentorship to RNMA members. Direct and coordinate work via collaborative project management and contractual requirements; travel approximately 30% to AFRL locations and member sites. What We Need Bachelor's degree with 5‑7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination. Strategic thinking and ability to align multiple interests (educational, commercial, governmental). Experience fostering successful collaborations or contributing to organizational partnerships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, relational databases, CRM, and internet software. Strong research, analysis, and reporting skills. Project organization and budget monitoring. Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Knowledge of applicable laws, contracts, and standards. Fast‑paced, innovative team environment. Mentor, motivate teams and resolve conflicts. Additional Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (master's, professional, or PhD) in science, engineering, business, or related field. 7+ years of related experience including project management and data analysis. Demonstrated understanding of current market trends and forces affecting innovation translation. Government Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) certification or PMP certification. Fixed‑Term Position and Visa This is a fixed‑term position with appointment period based on available funding. Visa sponsorship is not available.
