The ideal candidate will have an extensive network and a proven track record of success engaging with sophisticated investors and raising assets across public and private markets.Primary ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully design, implement and execute on a strategic sales plan for the Southern region leveraging Aberdeen’s strengths in public and private credit, specialist equities and real assets.Maintain high levels of engagement and deliver solutions to prospective clients resulting in a robust opportunity pipeline and successful conversion to new businessWork closely with Aberdeen investment teams and product specialists, partnering with them to thoroughly understand our investment capabilities and present them effectively to your prospective clientsCoordinate with Aberdeen’s global distribution team to leverage global relationships and ensure efforts are aligned and efficiently allocatedWork collaboratively in a true team environment with Aberdeen’s Consultant Relations, Institutional Relationship Management, Client Service and Marketing teams, and our broader business to maximize the resources of the firm to generate successful resultsMake firm-level and product-related presentations to prospects in which you credibly articulate the investment strategy for a diverse range of products and vehicles across multiple asset classes. Must demonstrate the ability to convey unique product attributes which differentiate our strategiesRepresent Aberdeen’s corporate strategy and brand effectively in the marketplaceMaintain timely and detailed records in Salesforce regarding clients, prospects and opportunitiesAttend industry-specific conferences and eventsSubstantial travel (25% or more) is required with this positionQualifications and Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree required; CFA and/or MBA preferredSeries 7 & 63 requiredA minimum of 10 years of institutional sales experienceStrong knowledge of Southern region with extensive network of existing institutional contactsAn exceptional team playerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsVery strong presentation and meeting leadership skillsOutstanding analytical ability and a strong understanding of investment products and capital marketsAbility to build and maintain positive relationships with both external and internal business partnersStrong organizational skillsAbility to interact with people having varying degrees of investment savvyOur Benefits:When you join Aberdeen, you will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package that invests in each employee’s financial future, health and well-being.
