Working Well Fitness Specialist - Job Description and Performance Expectations
The goal of our Working Well program is to support and encourage an all-inclusive approach to employee wellness by creating an organizational culture of health, all while increasing productivity, boosting employee engagement and decreasing stress. As a Working Well Fitness Specialist, you are responsible for motivating and inspiring offsite employers and employees to make a personal commitment to health and fitness by setting goals, providing feedback and accountability and creating enjoyable and effective fitness experiences. This is not a behind the scenes position - you are on the front-line letting your personality shine, connecting with offsite employers and employees, offering complimentary advice, teaching classes and helping clean and maintain corporate fitness center equipment. Daily Operations
- Conduct daily walk-through of the Working Well fitness center to ensure proper working conditions.
- Display a member first attitude by not only being raving fans of WAC's Working Well fitness centers, but also for creating raving fans; we are all responsible for attracting and retaining members.
- Acknowledge all employees who enter the Working Well fitness center.
- Be visible and interact regularly with employers and employees using smile, name and eye contact.
- Offer equipment and workout assistance, correction and advice when appropriate to employees.
- Conduct Personal Training and Fit Sessions according to WAC standards; confirm all appointments.
- Maintain and clean all equipment.
- Keep employees informed of Working Well fitness center etiquette; say yes whenever possible.
- Attend Working Well meetings.
- Responsible for working or finding subs for committed classes, inform Team Lead with changes.
- Be available for regular communication with Working Well Team Members and Team Lead.
- Follow all WAC Team Member policies and procedures.
- Complete responsibilities assigned by home club's leadership team and Working Well Team Lead.
- Catch Team Members doing things right and hand out WAC Bucks.
- Participate in 90-day review and ongoing Team Member evaluations.
- Share Working Well ideas and suggestions with Working Well leadership.
- Communicate to Team Lead all concerns, suggestions and complaints.
- Follow all WAC's policies and procedures.
- Pursue ongoing personal and professional development and share what you learn with others.
- Work all scheduled shifts or find a replacement; inform Team Lead of any changes to the schedule.
- Provide coverage for Team Members as needed.
- Be a team player - strive to help out wherever and whenever possible.
- Own and immediately resolve problems to ensure member and guest safety.
- Maintain current certifications, including CPR.
- Know the Safety Plan and Emergency Action Plan.
- Follow all insurance, liability and incident report procedures.
- Regularly clean, sanitize and organize all equipment regularly.
- Report facility issues and broken equipment immediately to GM and Maintenance department.
- Ethically communicate prices and sessions status with clients.
- Accurately schedule sessions in the member relations management system to ensure correct payroll.
- Complete individual payroll by due dates and times.
- Communicate WAC services with employees and employers to help grow revenue.
- Do your part to exceed Working Well fitness center goals - both individually and department-wide.
- Up-serve or recommend additional services of interest to our members at point-of-sale.
- Be aware of all programs, activities and events that are happening in the fitness center.
- Act as a liaison between the WAC and the company/organization to promote program awareness.
- Sign up for upcoming programs, activities and events to increase WAC product knowledge.
- Assist in Working Well events.
- Participate in community organizations and positive social media to actively promote club.
- Utilize the Program Process when creating and evaluating programs and events.
- Welcome all new participants to Working Well fitness center and connect them to other programs.
- Utilize the 5-foot rule - if you are within 5 feet of people, engage them with WAC greeting.
- Create memorable experiences. Have fun while engaging employees and clients.
- Connect new employees to the fitness center; facilitate all Fit Sessions.
- Promote Personal Training to help employees achieve the results that they desire.
- Be personally committed to fitness by actively going through the retention program sessions.
