Pharmacy Operations Manager

Be among the first 25 applicants. Customer Experience Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer complaints, helps respond to customers’ requests in a timely manner and answers non-clinical questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices. Operations Assists pharmacist in patient care tasks such as registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification (where law allows). Completes patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision. Supports healthcare service offerings including vaccines, health screenings (where law allows). Delegates, directs, and assigns non-clinical work ensuring timely completion and accountability. Prepares and files required reports and records. Manages core pharmacy workflow, coordinates daily schedule, recommends hour allocation, and keeps pharmacy clean and stocked. Ensures compliance and executes administrative and inventory tasks not requiring licensure. Drives new technology/process roll out, champions change, and engages team. Maintains security safeguards and adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policies. Communicates prescription errors, adheres to policies and continuous quality improvement program. Processes insurance claims and follows up with providers and 3rd party audits. Assists in analyzing pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service. Manages Community Outreach and coordinates off-site immunization clinics and community events. People & Performance Management Leads performance management of technicians including discipline and termination decisions. Manages hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of technicians. Identifies training gaps and supports development. Monitors licensure status of pharmacy and team members. Ensures proper recruitment, record retention, and training procedures. Training & Personal Development Maintains PTCB certification and required state certifications. Enhances pharmacy and healthcare knowledge. Obtains required certifications and education credits. Seeks professional development and feedback. Communication Communicates with pharmacy team, relaying messages from support center or key emails. Participates in store/pharmacy meetings including 5-minute meetings and weekly check-ins with the Store Manager. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Will obtain active immunization certification within 90 days (except in CS and HS locations). Preferred Qualifications Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation rating. We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. The actual hourly salary within this range will depend on geography, skills, education, experience, and other factors. This role will remain open until filled.
