OverviewAmity Die and Stamping is seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to build and maintain a wide range of progressive, compound, and secondary dies. Tool and Die Maker will prioritize/manage workload of existing jobs in the tooling area. We have availability on 1st Shift with minimum of 40-50 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Tool Room Manager.Amity Die and Stamping, located in Lake Forest IL, founded in 1943, is a family-held, precision metal fabrication and stamping manufacturer that has built its business on quality product that exceeds customer expectations. The company prides itself on innovative metal solutions using equipment and technologies to help our customers achieve their product requirements.ResponsibilitiesFamiliar with the Quality Policy and Objectives ISO 9001-2015Build and troubleshoot new tooling per design requirementsModify existing tooling per customer changes and requirementsMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling for continued operations of production ordersPerform changeovers on multiple part toolingSupport multiple company departments with any tooling needsCommunicate with department manager on status of workAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environmentContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAccurate time keeping for each jobFollowing instructions per shop traveler or other instructionsReport press/ die problems to supervisor, reporting of actual or potential product quality issues to QA or SupervisorStopping production when known or suspected nonconforming conditions existAbility to lift up to 30-50 lbsRequirementsHigh School Diploma and TMA certificate or equivalentMinimum of 5 years of Tool and Die experienceExperience working in Manufacturing industryKnowledge and operation of all tool room equipment safely and efficientlyAbility to follow procedures and instructions per ISO requirementsGood written & verbal skills in English; Spanish Bilingual is a plusAbility and willingness to work overtime when necessaryMust be able to work as a team member and not only as an individualDependable and punctualCNC/Wire EDM experience a plusSolidworks CAD experience a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr
