Mobile Infrastructure Technical Manager - IT University IT (UIT), part of the Business Affairs organization at Stanford University, is dedicated to delivering world‑class service and technology solutions to advance research, teaching, learning, administration, and healthcare. Stanford University is expanding its Mobile Infrastructure services. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead the mobile infrastructure engineering and operations. Responsibilities Develop and execute strategies for the mobile network connectivity and private 5G service offerings. Monitor and ensure performance, availability, and reliability of the service. Identify areas for improvement and implement measures to enhance service quality and efficiency. Manage ServiceNow incident and request queues, following up with staff and removing blockers. Review change requests for compliance with UIT Change Management processes. Track and report operational performance metrics and ensure alignment with SLAs. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve service‑related issues. Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback; foster a positive work environment and develop training programs. Serve as primary point of escalation for clients regarding mobile network connectivity and private 5G services; understand client requirements and provide solutions. Proactively identify upsell or cross‑sell opportunities based on client requirements and industry trends. Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers; negotiate contracts and maintain vendor relationships. Conduct market research, feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and collaborate with product development, engineering, and operations to design new services. Define service specifications, features, and deliverables aligned with client expectations and business objectives; apply strong project management skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and eight years of experience, or equivalent combination. Proven experience managing mobile network connectivity services, including indoor and outdoor DAS. Knowledge of mobile network technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., 4G, 5G, LTE). Understanding of private 5G network architecture, implementation, and management. Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills in mobile network connectivity and private 5G services. Solid understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation processes. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment. Other Details Certification: Valid California Class C non‑commercial driver’s license required.Physical requirement: Ability to drive day or night.Pay range: $159,963 – $191,459 per annum.
