Salaried clinicians are expected to work a specific number of hours per week which is comprised of clinical hours (billable activity), administrative time (treatment notes, meetings, supervision, etc.), education and training, and program operations. Attendance at staff meetings, supervisions, and the Quarterly All Staff meeting is required.

Salaried staff are expected to meet productivity benchmarks and to also contribute to program development; represent the program/hospital at internal and external meetings; help to coordinate certain specialized groups, programs, or activities; and to develop new clinical or didactic skills to enhance treatment or increase staff knowledge.

Electronic Medical Record will remain up-to-date, complete, professionally written, and in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Each staff member will share responsibility to ensure that program needs are met. This includes working on-site at least one evening per week and having a presence in the office during assigned hours. This may include covering groups/clients when another clinician is out, and handling clients who walk-in for treatment.

The Director approves all changes in staff schedules; Only assignments assessed to be well beyond the normal responsibilities of a staff person within the scheduled work-week may result in the specific reduction of total available time which will, in turn, reduce productivity obligations for that individual during that period. Graduation and training from an accredited graduate program with a current unrestricted licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration: MA/MSW, PhD (L.2 years of experience working with mental health and substance abuse disorders in a clinical setting.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

ADDENDUM FOR CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER LCSW IN PALLIATIVE CARE

Collaborates as a member of inter-disciplinary treatment team for the development and delivery of treatment plan and discharge plans for palliative care patients. Performs a variety of duties involving patient assessment, emotional support, family meetings, bereavement support, and complex care transitions.

Participates in team planning of treatment during initial interview and family meetings for goal setting and care planning. Coordinates discharge planning for own case load. Collaborates with outpatient providers to coordinate treatment and discharge planning.

Provide liaison function between palliative care team and social service, care coordination and patient representative departments. Provide liaison function between palliative care team and community hospice, home care agencies, long-term care facilities, government agencies, and other community services as needed. Develop referral network as directed.

Teaches students, residents and fellows in palliative care concepts during bedside rounds, scheduled didactics and clinical rotations. Provide training and continuing education for staff.

Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in hospital, long-term care or hospice setting.

Must possess or actively work toward Palliative Care certification by National Association of Social Workers upon hire.
