Responsibilities/Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

Patient and Staff Interaction:

Work directly with pharmacy patients, medical, and nursing staff to navigate patient medication needs.

Build and maintain professional relationships with providers, patients, families, insurers, other units, and staff.

Workflow and Compliance:

Coordinate workflow to ensure efficiency and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Anticipate business needs to assist in the growth and success of the pharmacy.

Maintain IV hoods or isolators, clean room, and ante room according to manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements.

Inventory Management:

Maintain medication supply for all patient needs within the cancer center infusion pharmacy.

Use Epic functionality for compounding/repackaging anticipatory compounded medications.

Coordinate specialized ordering and stocking of supportive care medications and emergency medications.

Medication Preparation and Dispensing:

Prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication accurately and timely in accordance with all legal, regulatory, and Fairview requirements.

Perform complex compounding, including complex cancer treatments, investigational drugs, all home infusion pumps, and intradermal cytotoxic agents

Billing and Regulatory Expertise:

Act as a subject matter expert in third-party regulations and billing guidelines.

Assist in resolving billing issues and escalate as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Minimum of six months of pharmacy technician experience.

Registered Technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy and/or Registered Intern with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy (required prior to start date).
