Position SummaryThe United States Space Force (USSF) at JB Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, HI is searching for a Director, Mission Support and Logistics, SPACEFOR-INDOPAC (NH-0346-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent).ResponsibilitiesThe Mission Support and Logistics Sustainment Director (S4) is a key S-Staff Director on the HQ SPACEFOR-INDOPAC Staff. The S4 Director is the principal director/advisor to COMSPACEFOR, a USSF Brigadier General, for mission support and logistics, and planning. This director leads sight surveys and visits for capability employment and also the development of the United States Space Forces Indopacific (SPACEFOR-INDOPAC) logistics plans, civil engineering designs, anti-terrorism plans and defense, coordinating force protection from supporting BOS organization, coordinating Agile Combat Employment (ACE) support, and planning commercial contracting efforts. The incumbent plans and manages inter/intra-theater movement and maneuvers to support SPACEFOR-INDOPAC and all USSF efforts in the INDOPACOM AOR. Incumbent coordinates service training, employment, and operations for USINDOPACOM space/ground teams.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for this position will have earned a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the field of logistics, maintenance, sustainment, or associated fields. In addition, it is desirable that the candidate possess a Foundational Certification in Program Management, Engineering, Financial Management, or similar sustainment related areas. It is desirable that the candidate possess a background in government logistics and Space, have 6+ years delivering Materiel Capabilities/Sustainment to DoD Warfighters; and possess a military/civil service background in operations, support, or maintenance. The ideal candidate will preferably be a DoD and USAF/USSF policy expert, a skilled technical and managerial analyst, an innovative-minded leader, and an overall strong leader. Candidate should possess government supervisory experience, significant skills and experience in logistics product support arrangements, acquisition and contracts management, DoD financial management, personnel management, engineering management, and life cycle logistics. The candidate must exhibit sound day-to-day oversight and management of logistics personnel, be a self-starter, have strong collaboration skills, be highly motivated, resilient, expert briefer, and an expert problem solver.RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints.Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, work toward an agreement, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions.Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.RequirementsMust be a U.S Citizen.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report."This position is designated a NON-CRITICAL APDP position.Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.PCS / incentive funding is authorized.This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. #J-18808-Ljbffr
