This is a hands‑on individual‑contributor role, and it’s best suited for someone who enjoys owning the numbers from start to finish. Why This Role Is Worth Considering Clear scope and expectations - this role is designed to own the accounting function, not juggle unrelated responsibilities Direct access to an experienced finance leader who understands the work and is available for guidance Exposure to grants, audits, and board reporting, offering well‑rounded experience A stable hybrid schedule that leadership is committed to maintaining Opportunity for long‑term growth as the organization evolves What You’ll Be Responsible For Manage full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end close, accruals, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly financial statements for leadership and board reporting Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management Record payroll journal entries and maintain related schedules (403(b), accruals, etc.) Support grant‑related financial reporting and budget tracking (training provided) Prepare audit schedules and support annual audit and tax processes Work closely with internal teams to ensure financial accuracy and consistency What They’re Looking For 5+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience Strong understanding of accrual‑based accounting Experience using QuickBooks (Online preferred) Hands‑on experience with month‑end close and reconciliations Background in nonprofit or grant‑funded environments Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Comfortable working independently and owning deliverables Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries: Accounting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at CFS by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
