Reports to: Program Director Job Overview The Director of Clinical Outreach will play a critical role in the success of the mental health treatment center by developing and executing a comprehensive sales and marketing plan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare business development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently to achieve revenue goals. The Director of Clinical Outreach must be able to develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and payers without a sales team and have knowledge of substance abuse and behavioral health services. The Director of Clinical Outreach will be the primary point of contact for all potential referral sources and will work closely with the clinical team to ensure that clients receive high‑quality care. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue goals and increase client volume. Identify and prioritize target markets and develop strategies to attract and retain clients. Work directly with individuals as a treatment navigator to provide seamless transition of care. Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources, payers, and other key stakeholders in the community. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure alignment between business development efforts and clinical operations. Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, as well as compiling and analyzing competitive data within assigned geographical regions. Participate in networking events and conferences to build the center's reputation, increase visibility in the community, and drive business development. Prepare and deliver presentations to potential referral sources and payers to promote the center's services and create lasting relationships. Work closely with the billing and finance team to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered (as needed). Submit timely CRM data, expense reports, annual strategic sales plans and quarterly strategic sales plan updates. Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to state and federal confidentiality regulations. Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate/ requested. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare business development, preferably in substance use treatment or behavioral health; one year of experience in substance use/behavioural health treatment required or willingness to learn about the fields as they pertain to services offered. Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Leadership expertise: lead and motivate the marketing team and collaborate with operational and clinical leadership to ensure positive partnerships and a good reputation in the community. Emergency and safety: understand and follow facility emergency and safety procedures, respond to emergencies in a safe and effective manner, provide first aid and CPR as needed, and maintain a safe and secure environment for clients and staff. Overdose prevention: recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose and respond appropriately; trained in the use of naloxone and other overdose reversal medications. Suicide risk and prevention: recognize the signs and symptoms of suicide risk and respond appropriately; trained in suicide prevention strategies. Strategic planning: develop and implement marketing plans that align with the overall goals of the program. Marketing: strong understanding of marketing principles and ability to develop and execute marketing campaigns that reach the target audience. Communication: effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including program staff, funders, and the public. Data analysis: collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make informed decisions about future marketing initiatives. Teamwork: work effectively with a variety of teams, including program staff, the marketing team, and other stakeholders. Problem-solving: identify and solve problems that arise in the marketing process. Creativity: generate creative ideas for marketing campaigns. Resilience: handle setbacks and challenges in the marketing process. Flexibility: adapt to changes in the marketing environment.
