POSITION SUMMARYThe Business Partner, Finance provides support and manages resources across different regions, this includes, but is not limited to financial reporting and control, income management, debt management, submitting invoices for payment for Accounts Payable and accurately billing clients for services rendered. This Partner is also responsible for overseeing the functions performed by the Accounting Assistant, Financial Analysts, and other assigned financial staff.As part of the DSV team, Employees are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Business partners are expected to support, promote, and exemplify the core values of DSV consistently: Customers First, Best Performance, and True Collaboration.Be responsible for managing resources across different regions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Business Partner Finance helps operational leadership make financial decisions by supporting the following activities:Developing financial strategies: Analyze revenue, expenses, investments, and risks to create a financial strategy. Includes performing analytical reviews of financial information to identify trends/opportunities; recommending improvements to drive cost efficiencies balanced with operational needs; and working with Operations to develop budgets and forecasts for financial performance.Create forecasts: Use historical data to create forecasts, including reporting of actual results and analysis vs. plan; assist operations regarding cost budgets, quarterly forecasts, and other financial planning activities.Prepare reports: Create reports to explain financial recommendations to senior management; participate in the accurate and timely preparation of internal financial reporting and analysis; publish periodic financial reports (e.g., accounts payable, freight and consumable metrics) to provide visibility of financial results.Set goals: Help set financial goals and create a roadmap to achieve them; participate in special projects including process improvement and financial tools development/implementation; manage financial process improvements, KPIs, and tracking of strategic initiatives; support internal and external audits.Manage resources: Plan, organize, and manage workload to contribute to monthly financial reporting; ensure swift payment of invoices; collect and confirm accuracy of charges and expenses for billing; manage Accounts Payable process (vendor invoices, revenue accruals); support month-end close (journal entries, corporate submissions, expense management, budgetary support); prepare month-end journal entries focused on cost accruals; complete the monthly Client Profitability Model; attend meetings and document/distribute minutes; manage confidential information; create/disseminate communications and reports; assist with presentations; communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, and others on behalf of site management.Identify opportunities: Identify opportunities to optimize assets and investments; produce cost quotes, strategic business cases, risk assessments, and ad-hoc analyses; schedule and meet with vendors to ensure competitive pricing is maintained.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for performance management of Accounting Assistant, Financial Analysts, and other assigned financial staff members.Ensures training and development of team members.SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation & Experience:A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.A minimum of 5 years of accounting, FP&A or finance experience is required.Minimum of 3 years in supervising direct reports.Computer Skills:Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP).Certificates & Licenses:N/ALanguage Skills:English (reading, writing, verbal).Mathematical SkillsStrong math skills (emphasis on financial and accounting applications) with attention to detail.Other SkillsAbility to partner with associates at all levels of the organization; effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are required; initiative-taking with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and proven leadership skills; ability to work in a dynamic environment, think creatively, implement process improvements, work independently, and manage multiple tasks; train staff at all levels in different regions.CORE COMPETENCIESLeader of Others ☐ Accountability ☐ Business Acumen ☐ Communication / Building Partnership ☐ Developing Oneself ☐ Developing Others ☐ Drive for Results ☐ Embracing Change ☐ Problem Solving ☐ Empowerment ☐ Leadership Excellence ☐ Leading Change ☐ Problem Solving Independent Contributor ☐ Accountability ☐ Communication / Building Partnership ☐ Customer Orientation ☐ Developing Oneself ☐ Drive for Results ☐ Embracing Change ☐ Problem Solving ☐ Professional CompetenciesTravel RequirementsThis role requires 25% travel within the US.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles; the noise level is typically low to moderate.
