Primary duties will include managing regional and subregional transportation studies, leading innovative multimodal research and analysis efforts, and communicating the findings of complex analyses to a variety of audiences. In addition, developing relationships with a range of private and public sector stakeholders in the planning process will be a fundamental aspect of this role.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:

· Providing technical and administrative support to ongoing planning work.
· Building and maintaining effective working relationships with member agencies and stakeholders.
· Providing support to MAG committees and workgroups.
· Project procurement and contract management and budget administration.
· Coordination or collaboration with other MAG internal departments.
· Serving as a technical liaison to partner agency’s studies.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of multimodal planning experience and knowledge, with specific experience in managing intricate and highly visible projects. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to think critically and analytically to bring together complex tasks into a set of cohesive deliverables that will inform policies and strategies and help build consensus. The candidate should have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; experience presenting to and working with a variety of audiences (e.g., public, technical, stakeholder, elected) is preferred. Productive relationships with our member agency representatives, built upon strong customer services skills and responsiveness, are vital to success in this position. Candidates should be detail oriented, highly motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, both independently and within a team.
High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, required. Familiarity with geographic information systems (i.e., ESRI, QGIS), preferred. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, TransCAD or equivalent demand modeling software, and analysis of modelling results, a plus.
Experience and Education
Planner III: Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering, or related field is required, more than three (3) years of relevant experience in transportation planning or engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
