Plant Supplier Quality Engineer

Base pay range $96.55/hr - $96.55/hr Title: Plant Supplier Quality Engineer Industry: Automotive Location: Hayward, CA Duration: ~6 months Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is an estimated range provided by WorkGenius. Responsibilities Act as the first responder to all supplier material quality issues identified on the assembly line and implement containment activities. Own the in-plant disposition of non-conforming materials and manage Non-Conformance Reports. Lead Corrective Actions for in-plant supplier quality issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Work closely with Manufacturing and Vehicle Systems Engineering to assess impacts of part quality issues on assembly. Analyze and report in-plant supplier quality metrics, including fallback rates and non-conformance trends. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in a Plant Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Supplier Quality role in high-volume manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of assembly line operations and the effect of material quality on production flow. Proven experience in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Six-Sigma, and Fish Bone Analysis. Solid knowledge of Core Quality Tools and familiarity with supplier quality processes like APQP and PPAP.
