Ochsner Children’s is seeking a board certified/board eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician to join its expanding practice in New Orleans, LA.

 

Opportunity Details:

  • Provide outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department consults for suspected abuse and neglect.

  • Minimal after-hours phone call coverage

  • Strong support by leadership and administration

  • Responsibilities will include in-person court testimony, depositions, and hearings.

  • Receive the time and the support needed to provide patient and family centric medical evaluations and care.

  • The position offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience with full benefits, paid relocation, and a signing bonus.

 

Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children’s™) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.

 

We recently announced the building of a new, comprehensive, dedicated Children’s Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027.

 

We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.

In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine.

Ochsner also maintains 28 primary care locations across southern Louisiana and 30 subspecialty locations (Including the Shaquille O’Neal Pediatric Super Clinic in Baton Rouge); and the Boh Center for Child Development, a dedicated multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.
