Facility Mechanic

Description: BASIC FUNCTION: Maintains LESC buildings in repair including plumbing, electricity, and maintenance of all facilities.MAJOR DUTIES:· Identifies and repairs maintenance problems such as (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical).· Maintains air conditioners by cleaning filters and condensers monthly.· Checks smoke detectors, emergency lights and locks on fire exits to ensure that they are safe and operational monthly.· Changes fuses, light bulbs and ceiling tiles when required.· Unclogs drains, toilets and sinks.· Monitors oil and boiler temperature.· Uses meter to measure U.V. lighting.· Assists in conducting fire drills.· Sets up chairs, podium, TV/VCR, microphone and overhead projectors upon request.· Tags equipment of fixed assets as part of the inventory control program.· Monthly fire extinguisher inspection· Cleaning of snow and maintaining a safe walkway· Maintaining of garden / edging · Supervising of porter/handyman/cleaner· Provides on call 24-hour coverage.· Fills in for other facility mechanics on leave as needed.· Performs other duties as requested or assigned.LOCATION: Bronx, NY 10456SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm *Must be able to work additional hours or adjust hours as needed (including evenings, weekends)PAY: $49,995.00/yr - $54,982.20/yr dep. on experienceWe offer excellent benefits including:Generous time off that includes 4 weeks of vacationMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceDiscounted Commuter benefitsLife insurance & Long term disabilityEligible for Federal Student Loan Repayment ProgramTraining and other additional voluntary benefitsTo join our diverse team, please include salary requirements with your resume/application submission.Please visit us at www.lesc.org EEO Minorities/Women/Disabled/Vets Requirements: QUALIFICATION - EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:High School graduate, GED and/or Trade School Diploma and 5 years experience in building maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, painting and electrical).
