Insurance Specialist

The Insurance Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of PEAC's Insurance Program, including data entry, managing incoming calls, email communications, claims processing, and report generation. This role reports to the Director of Insurance & Operations.
Essential Functions:
- Answer phone calls and emails from customers, agents, and PEAC employees to explain PEAC's insurance requirements and assist with obtaining appropriate documentation to fulfill lease agreement obligations.
- Explain PEAC's Leased/Financed Equipment Insurance Policy, including coverage details, exclusions, insurance fee quotes, refunds, and claims processes.
- Review all insurance certificates and policies to determine if they meet PEAC's requirements; enter insurance information into ServiceCloud, or respond to customers and/or agents if information is insufficient.
- Use weekly reports to ensure the accuracy of customers placed on PEAC's insurance program and create letters notifying customers of insurance requirements.
- Process claims for covered equipment by:
- Taking initial claim reports from customers
- Preparing claim packets
- Evaluating packets for completeness and claim validity
- Preparing files for manager review and submission to the insurance company
- Processing and tracking vendor and insurance company payments
- Monitoring and maintaining files in accordance with company policy
- Contact customers, vendors, police, and insurance agents to validate and investigate claims
- Review customer accounts in Service Cloud for payment history, messages, and adjustments; document all interactions
- Perform other duties as needed
- High school diploma with two years of related experience, or a college degree
- Detail-oriented and customer-focused personality
- Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external resources to achieve company goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Property and Casualty insurance license or prior insurance experience is a plus
