Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Resource Team Float Pool

Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day/Night Rotating

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent Medical-Surgical experience in a busy large hospital with a minimum of 200 beds. Previous float pool experience preferred.

License: Active Registered Nurse license, ND or Compact state.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be from the American Heart Association.

Must-Have: Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR).

Job Description:

- Provide nursing care in various medical-surgical units, supporting different locations as needed.
- Perform head-to-toe assessments and administer medications through various routes.
- Formulate and document care plans, and provide wound, line, and drain care.
- Use equipment such as Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vital machines.
- Float across all medical-surgical units, including oncology, general med-surg, trauma med-surg, cardiac, neuro, observation, medical behavioral, and specialized units.
- Rotate between day and night shifts with every other weekend and holiday included in the schedule.
- Participate in orientation with full shifts on medical-surgical units across multiple campuses.
- Participate in team meetings and campus tours during the first week of hiring.
- Work a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 1:5-6 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Adhere to dress code by wearing navy scrubs.

Candidates must be willing to float within the medical-surgical cluster and between multiple campuses as required. Call in daily to receive unit assignments for that shift. Candidates living beyond a 60-mile radius are eligible for consideration.
