Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day/Night Rotating

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience required; Surgical Oncology experience preferred

License: Active North Dakota or Compact State RN License

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Must-Have: EPIC experience; Experience working in larger hospitals (minimum 200 beds), level 2 or higher trauma center

Job Description:
- Provide care for medical-surgical patients and surgical oncology patients
- Collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge
- Utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting
- Equipment utilized in the unit/department: EMR - Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, Telemetry
- Work 12-hour shifts with a requirement of every other weekend and holiday
- May float to any med/surg unit within various campuses
- Participate in a unit/department specific training and orientation program, including 1-day lead center training and 2-12 hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1 on day shifts and 6:1 on night shifts
- Follow a dress code of navy blue scrubs
