Summary of Position: The Senior Scientist I/II will be an integral member of the Targeted Therapeutics Group focused on generating novel antibody-based therapies for the treatment of cancers. The incumbent will be responsible for the design and synthesis of novel linker-payload molecules, and the execution of experiments to support the progression of our novel antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) from lead generation through pre-clinical development, achieving key program milestones and timeline goals. The role also involves driving innovation by staying current with the field and scouting new technologies to advance discovery efforts. Responsibilities and Job Duties: Lead efforts to establish and expand internal medicinal chemistry capabilities, to support ADC discovery and development. Design, synthesize, and optimize novel linker-payload molecules, directly contributing to next-generation ADC therapies. Perform and optimize bioconjugation reactions. Purify, characterize, and analyze synthesized molecules using analytical techniques such as HPLC, FPLC, LC-MS, and NMR. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to advance ADC programs from early discovery through preclinical and clinical development stages. Analyze, interpret experimental results, and present key findings and strategic insights at team meetings and to senior leadership. Author protocols, research reports, and intellectual property documents, while maintaining high-quality electronic laboratory records. Champion external visibility for our science and technology through participation in scientific meetings and symposia. Qualifications Senior Scientist I Minimum Education & Other Credentials Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with 8 or more years of direct, relevant experience. Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with 5 or more years of direct, relevant experience. Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with direct laboratory experience. Postdoctoral experience preferred. Senior Scientist II Minimum Education & Other Credentials Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with 11 or more years of direct, relevant experience. Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with 8 or more years of direct, relevant experience. Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Peptide Chemistry, with 3 or more years of direct, relevant experience. Postdoctoral experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong foundation in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and/or peptide chemistry, with a passion for applying this expertise to therapeutic innovation. Hands-on experience in designing, synthesizing, and optimizing novel linker-payload molecules. Experience with protein conjugation, purification, and ideally ADC generation. Proven expertise in protein analytical methods such as HPLC, HIC, SEC, ion exchange, and LC-MS, with the ability to generate high-quality data to drive decision-making. Background in ADCs and bioconjugation is highly desirable, though not required for motivated candidates eager to grow in the field. Detail-oriented and well organized with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to positively impact company culture and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary collaborative environment. Strong track record of executing experiments, developing assays, optimizing protocols, and interpreting results to drive impactful discoveries. Commitment to maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality lab records. Independent, self-motivated, and team-oriented, with a track record of innovation, critical thinking, and problem solving. Supervisory Responsibilities Potential for supervisory and leadership responsibilities as the team expands. Preferred Qualification: Direct experience in designing, synthesizing, and optimizing novel linker–payload molecules. Proven expertise in antibody conjugation, purification, and characterization. Experience with biochemical techniques to assess drug potency is a plus. Hands-on experience in the field of targeted protein degradation. Additional Information The annual rate of pay for this position ranges from $99,200 - $151,300 (Sr. Scientist I) and $113,900 - $173,800 (Sr. Scientist II). For non-exempt roles, and according to applicable regulations, there may be the possibility for overtime pay. This role is eligible for the Company’s discretionary bonus and discretionary equity incentives. The annual pay rate range is described in good faith, and the Company believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
