POSITION TITLE: Operations Analyst

REPORTS TO: Senior Director Sourcing

STATUS: Full Time, Exempt


PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Under the direction of the Senior Director Sourcing, the Operations Analyst is responsible for business and operational analytics, reporting, and research to support both internal and external stakeholders. The Operations Analyst will focus on supporting Pandion membership by identifying added services and savings opportunities that will optimize the member’s overall supply cost management and business strategy. The individual will further support internal efforts to grow and expand our programs and bolster revenue growth. The individual must have an entrepreneurial mind set with extensive experience analyzing large data sets and deriving insights for business decisions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee all analytical efforts, aggregation, and quality assurance of data from multiple sources in support of performing supplier reporting, operational reporting and quantitative analyses of utilization and costs.

  • Perform monthly Salesforce reconciliations to confirm accuracy and completeness of data uploads and identify differences between payment data and contract member volume data.
  • Compare weekly vendor-provided food distribution volume reports to associated revenue streams, identifying, and reporting/presenting any trends, irregularities, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with and provide reporting & analytical support to all departments, and support cross functional projects such as Data Governance.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with our GPO partners and vendors.
  • Ensure consistency of approach related to analysis techniques, key findings, and the developments of supplier recommendations/opportunities.
  • Leverage Power BI and Salesforce in building interpreting and presenting analytics related to contract volume, revenue and savings.

Lead the development and execution of analytical and/or research activities to provide senior leadership with information and tools for strategic decision making and planning, trends and forecasting, data and informatics needs, emerging technologies.

  • Provide and interpret top vendor/account analytic reports and same store/new store reports with key findings on a quarterly basis.
  • Analyze, interpret, communicate, and present all contract trends on a monthly basis to support the Finance department’s forecasting process.
  • Monitor impacts of contract changes on a volume and revenue basis and track achievement of certain contract related incentives for key contract categories such as Medical-Surgical distribution. Be prepared to report findings to management monthly or as required.
  • Identify opportunities and determine solutions to improve capabilities and efficiency of existing reporting.
  • Prepare customized analytical reports upon request.
  • Effectively communicate workload prioritization and progress to all interested parties.
  • Prepare price connection reports auditing distribution pricing parity.
  • Assist with opportunity reporting weekly and KPI tracking as requested.

Provide best in class reporting and analytics to demonstrate the value of Pandion Optimization Alliance products and services. Drive the continual development of “best practice” member consulting and analytics tools leading to high levels of retention and acquisition.

  • Develop and prepare, in conjunction with member service team, a consistent set of operational and member satisfaction reports/dashboards for leadership that reflect established services standards and metrics.
  • Provide members with reporting, analytics, and consultation that are relevant and actionable including the calculation, tracking and recording of savings for new members.
  • Support requests for price benchmarking, new member price comparisons (market baskets) and member A/P file analysis yielding identification of potential revenue opportunities as assigned.
  • Distribute weekly pricing to members as needed and support quarterly issuance or manufacturer rebates.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No supervisory responsibilities.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher with emphasis in a quantitative or research field
  • 3-5 years of data analytic/informatics development, management, and report development experience
  • Use data mining tools to collect data for further research and analysis
  • Collaborate with programmers to create tools to collect and analyze data
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau
  • Possess strong data manipulation skills and techniques
  • Functional experience with database and spreadsheet software, such as MySQL and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful information in reports or presentation formats for storytelling purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of health care data reporting
  • Ability to think strategically with appropriate level of detail analysis to plan and execute.
  • Be proactive, self-assured and results oriented and can work independently.
  • Experience in healthcare/GPO recommended.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENTS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and smart boards.


PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. Must be able to use and manipulate normal office tools, converse effectively via correspondence and orally (especially the telephone), sit for prolonged periods of time and to move about the facilities.
