I'm the medical director for Sound's hospital medicine practice at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, WA. I have been a part of Sound for nine years and welcome interest from physicians coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your next steps:
People- We are a closely-knit, established team of 23 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners.
- Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds who lean on and learn from each other in their approach to patient care.
- Our physicians and NPs are heavily involved in hospital committees, medical staff meetings, and training of family medicine residents.
- Our team members have diverse interests, including skiing, hiking, cricket, tennis, and painting, and we often meet after work.
- We proudly sponsor J1 waiver & H1b visa candidates, and Sound has excellent in-house visa specialists and our licensing and credentialing experts. All required filing fees for the visa are paid, and services are covered by Sound.
- We work in a closed ICU setting with full intensivist support. Our team is not required to do procedures or run codes.
- We have lunch and learn every Wednesday, as well as a monthly team meeting.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when we're out.
- Expected yearly compensation is competitive at over $275K 280K for full-time.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k with match, paid medical malpractice and tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
