Medical Science Liaison, Dermatology – Southwest Johnson & J&J Innovative Medicine is looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Dermatology, to be based in the Southwest territory (Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Salt Lake City, UT). Job Description The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective, scientific information and education to opinion leaders, health care providers, and internal partners. The MSL serves as an established scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products in dermatology, staying abreast of the current scientific and treatment landscape, supporting company and investigator‑initiated research, and operating with high integrity. Build and maintain external relationships with identified opinion leaders (MD, PA, NP, RN, Pharm.D., biomedical coordinators) across the territory. Develop and manage a geographic territory, prioritizing in‑person engagements when appropriate. Develop and maintain a strategic territory plan that includes educational activities with identified HCPs and community practices. Respond promptly to unsolicited scientific inquiries, integrating real‑world evidence into practice. Present data appropriately for each audience and request. Execute reactive and proactive outreach plans approved via legal/HCC exceptions. Leverage knowledge of standards of care, competitor landscape, and clinical trials to support external‑internal research communication. Provide clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve site issues, and participate in meetings such as site initiation and investigator launch. Engage with investigators as a liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations. Represent J&J at scientific conferences, congresses, advisory boards, and investigator meetings. Maintain compliance with regulatory and health‑care guidelines, SOPs, and corporate policies. Summary of Responsibilities Consistently demonstrate strategic territory planning and relationship building. Prioritize franchise customer initiatives while balancing admin duties. Provide ongoing support to department operations and internal partners. Keep abreast of scientific trends and disseminate key insights to the MSL team and partners. Command data‑driven decision making and strong scientific acumen in all interactions. Qualifications PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree (NP, PA) with at least 3 years of relevant dermatology clinical experience. 2–3 years of relevant work experience (clinical, research, pharma). Significant presentation experience. Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean driving record. Residency within the defined territory. Ability to support travel up to 75–80% (overnight, some weekend). Preferred Knowledge or experience in dermatology and broader immunology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and remote technologies. Residence near Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; or Salt Lake City, UT. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $117,000 – $175,500. Paid time off: 120 hours of vacation, 40 hours of sick time (56 hours for Washington residents), 13 days of holiday pay, up to 40 hours of Personal and Family Time, 480 hours of Parental Leave, etc. Benefit programs include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability, group legal insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
