Director, Medical Science Liaisons – Neurology – West (ID: 2851546) IQVIA is hiring a Director, Medical Liaison (ML) Field Director to lead a team of MLs and oversee the ML team for the West. Responsibilities Build relationships and demonstrate the clinical outcomes and benefits of IQVIA products. Educate and demonstrate benefits of key products to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). Provide medical information and coordinate educational workshops, round tables, medical forums, etc. Identify sites for clinical trials across all stages of development. Oversee a team that provides advanced product, scientific, and medical field support to Medical, Sales, and Marketing, Managed Care and Government. Work with internal medical affairs team to determine and execute medical strategy, including territory prioritization based on customer need and analytics. Develop and maintain medical (territory and account) plans in coordination with the MLs. Lead and inspire an ML team and management toward exceeding objectives. Qualifications & Requirements Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD, relevant PhD, etc.). At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment. Proven track record with a minimum of three years leading a national clinical team in the biopharma industry. Experience managing a Medical Affairs team. Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred. Displays business acumen/knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions. Extensive experience in neurology, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease strongly preferred. Strong leadership, planning, organization, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as technical skills. Strong business acumen and ability to clearly and concisely report detailed data to management, as well as the customer. Ability to effectively communicate directly with the customer to ensure all goals and objectives are met as planned. Must have good analytical decision-making abilities. Must have exceptional business acumen. Essential Functions (Administrative Duties) Complete administrative duties accurately and on a timely basis, in line with current SOPs and working practices. Comply with all guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Ensure effective administrative management of regional business and operational budgets. Maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant IQVIA processes and procedures, and proactively assist other FMA members. Provide monthly reports on scientific support activities in region to the Director, including budget expenditures as directed. Record all activities within a customer relationship management system (e.g., VEEVA) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures. Program Management Align performance with success. Handle performance management and personnel issues of the ML team. Monitor and manage expectations in line with project goals as set by IQVIA. Act as the primary link between NNI and IQVIA for all operational and human resources/personnel needs relating to the ML team. Make regular field visits to develop and motivate MLs for achievement of objectives, assess and monitor field activity and work schedules, and monitor and manage field reporting by MLs. Assist with the planning and delivery of training and team meetings. Assist in backfill recruiting, interview, and selection of MLs as needed. Create, monitor, review, and/or approve administrative and compliance reports. Record all activities within a customer relationship management system (e.g., VEEVA) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures, and monitor team compliance. Physical Requirements 40-50% overnight travel required; driver must maintain a valid driver’s license. The potential base pay range for this role is $220,000‑250,000 annually. The actual base pay may vary based on a number of factors including job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience, location, and/or schedule (full or part‑time).
