Your work will directly support enterprise-wide initiatives, helping teams across the organization streamline operations, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building reusable components, and collaborating with other engineers to create high-impact internal platforms. The ideal candidate should have experience enabling IT organizations to work more efficiently, standardize best practices, and reduce friction across the development lifecycle. This includes creating reusable components, automation frameworks, and platform capabilities that empower other engineering teams to build and deploy with confidence.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain core platform services and APIsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutionsImplement infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps toolsParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planningParticipate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and supportEnsure that team adheres to established development standards such as continuous integration, code reviews, and technical documentationMonitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and securityKeys to the positionExtensive JavaScript Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on development experience with JavaScript, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or subject matter expert role.Modern Web Stack Expertise: Proven experience developing applications using React and Node.js.Package Management Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Node Package Manager (NPM), Webpack, and ESLint and its role in managing dependencies and build workflows.Developer Enablement: Demonstrated success in designing and implementing tools, frameworks, and workflows that streamline application development and deployment for engineering teams.Strong Soft Skills: A naturally curious mindset paired with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior developers.Location Flexibility: This role is based in either Boston or Needham, with occasional travel between offices as needed.Qualifications10+ years of experience in software engineeringExperience developing enterprise-wide web services, tools, and applications using Javascript and TypescriptHands-on experience with frameworks such as ReactJS, AngularJS, and NodeJSExperience building and maintaining published libraries or frameworks that are used by other teams or developers internallyExperience building and maintaining enterprise-wide services that support a wide range of teams/departmentsExcellent written and verbal communicationAttention to detail, self-discipline and passion to drive and innovateMust be comfortable with test-driven development, continuous integration, and agile development methodologies using tools like GIT, Artifactory, and JenkinsNot sure you meet 100% of our qualifications?
