Job TitleFinancial Due Diligence DirectorOverviewAs a Financial Due Diligence Director, you’ll focus on middle‑market transactions and serve dynamic organizations with experienced professionals. You will help clients validate, optimize, and create value across the Transaction Advisory Practice, leveraging the resources, environment, and support to help you excel.ResponsibilitiesLead buy‑side and sell‑side transactions for corporate clients, private equity groups, and commercial lenders.Manage engagements throughout the transaction lifecycle, coordinating other Grant Thornton capabilities and cross‑functional teams.Serve as the day‑to‑day point person on engagements and lead meetings and calls with clients and target management.Plan, execute, direct, and complete financial due diligence for financial and strategic buyers across a variety of industries.Examine and analyze client data to identify key trends, quality of earnings adjustments, and net working capital impacts.Draft reports to socialise findings around quality of earnings, net working capital, and business performance, including insights around key financial and business issues in a transaction.Manage client expectations concerning timing, progress, deliverables, deadlines, and lead change efforts effectively.Develop and maintain strong client relationships.Manage business development activities such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and other thought‑leadership material.Work closely with engagement teams and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow‑on work.Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilisation).Manage, develop, train, coach, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year‑end reviews.Lead and support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clients.Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of the services delivered.Interview campus and/or experienced candidates.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; advanced degree preferred.Minimum 10 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross‑industry clients at a national level required.Industry‑recognized professional certification required; CPA or related license/certification preferred.Strong current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions required.Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice.Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.Can travel as needed; expected travel is up to 25%.SalaryBase salary ranges for this position vary by office location:Los Angeles, CA: $202,500 – $337,500San Francisco, CA: $215,600 – $359,400Denver, CO: $187,500 – $312,500Chicago, IL: $187,500 – $312,500New York, NY: $202,500 – $337,500Boston, MA: $202,500 – $337,500Benefits SummaryMedical, dental, and vision insurance programs.Employee assistance program.Paid sick leave (minimum 72 hours for interns and seasonal employees).401(k) savings plan and employee retirement plan for seasonal employees.Potential discretionary annual bonus based on individual and firm performance.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementIt is the policy of Grant Thornton to promote equal employment opportunities.
