Join to apply for the Financial Due Diligence Director role at Grant Thornton (US) Posted 2 weeks ago Job Description As a Financial Due Diligence Director, you’ll focus on middle‑market transactions, serving dynamic organizations with experienced professionals who bring a full range of advisory services to validate, optimize and create value for our Transaction Advisory Practice. Your day‑to‑day may include: Lead buy‑side and sell‑side transactions for a client base that includes corporate clients, private equity groups and commercial lenders Manage engagements throughout the transaction lifecycle and coordinate other Grant Thornton capabilities by leveraging cross‑functional teams and international colleagues as needed Serve as the day‑to‑day point person on engagements; lead meetings and calls with clients and target management Plan, execute, direct and complete financial due diligence for financial and strategic buyers across a variety of industries Examine and analyze client data to identify key trends, quality of earnings adjustments and net working capital impacts Draft reports to socialize findings around quality of earnings, net working capital and business performance Manage client expectations concerning timing, progress, deliverables, deadlines, and lead change efforts effectively Develop and maintain strong client relationships Manage business development activities such as proposals, account teams, whitepapers, conferences and other thought leadership material Work closely with engagement teams and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow‑on work Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization) Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year‑end reviews Lead and support business development activities such as identification, proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of services delivered Interview campus and/or experienced candidates Other duties as assigned Technical Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required, advanced degree preferred Minimum 10 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross‑industry clients at a national level Industry recognized professional certification required, CPA or related license/certification preferred Strong current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills Can travel as needed; expected travel up to 25% Base Salary Ranges Los Angeles, CA: $202,500 – $337,500 San Francisco, CA: $215,600 – $359,400 Denver, CO: $187,500 – $312,500 Chicago, IL: $187,500 – $312,500 New York, NY: $202,500 – $337,500 Boston, MA: $202,500 – $337,500 About Us At Grant Thornton, we believe in making business more personal and building trust into every result – for our clients and you.
