Job DescriptionPURPOSE AND SCOPE: The responsibility of the PT Specialist IV, Contact Center is to provide technical software, hardware and network problem resolution to all College computer users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions in a Service Desk environment. The PT Specialist IV clearly communicates technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Identify, diagnose, and resolve Level One problems for users of the mainframe, personal computer software and hardware, College network, the Internet and new computer technology in a Service Desk environment. Communicate solutions to end-users Provide one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone, email, chat or other communication method for College approved desktop software Properly document problem ticket into online Incident Management System Suggest ways to improve team's work methods and procedures Effectively interact with team members and customers, employing an appropriate communication style Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of general office practices and procedures Knowledge of Microsoft products Demonstrated attention to detail Analytical, organizational and communication skills Ability work cooperatively and independently in a team oriented environment Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time PHYSICAL ABILITIES: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
