Patient Financial Advisor I - Neurology UT Southwestern Medical Center – Dallas, TX Job Summary Operates with limited oversight to provide financial counseling and clearance to patients within one department. Responsibilities Provide financial counseling for patients. Confirm patient insurance eligibility and conduct benefits reviews. Use cost estimate technology to create estimates and communicate costs. Post payments and assist in payment plan creation. Review account details and educate patients. Resolve account questions and concerns. Coordinate and complete financial assistance applications for the charity care program. Understand the revenue cycle, including involved parties and escalation pathways. Maintain knowledge of regulatory agencies (JCAHO, Medicare/Medicaid, state & federal laws, hospital policies). Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. 4 years of financial counseling experience with a high school diploma, OR 2 years of experience with an associate’s degree, OR no experience with a bachelor’s degree. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with at least a year of insurance and billing experience.
