Consumer Products Assembler

The Consumer Products Assembler will operate various pieces of equipment, be expected to learn many operational processes, and use various types of hand and power tools. Achieve targeted results in safety, production output, and ensuring customer & The Village quality requirements are understood and met throughout assembly. As well as assist in driving improvement initiatives in alignment to continual improvement tactics. Work Schedule: Monday- Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm. Overtime on Friday will be required based on business need. Wage: $15.00-$20.00 per hourResponsibilities:Works at different workstations as production needs require or shifts from one station to another as needed (this includes between brands within Consumer Products)Operate air nail gun, air staple gun, screw machine, rivet gun, hand router, sanders and other small hand tools as needed.Fastens parts together using bolts, screws, clips, cements(adhesives), or other fasteners per instruction manualPosition parts in specified relationship to each otherApply brackets to different parts of the product and make sure all screws are secureDrilling at an angle, straight up and down; using the right size bitSpray paintingSanding and gluingApply decalsPut incoming parts awayMaintain a neat, organized workspaceProvide input to update build manuals so they remain current and a useful reference toolActively participate in the continuous improvement processCommunicate quality issues to the appropriate departmentMaterials and Equipment Utilized:Ability to operate a variety of hand toolsBasic knowledge of computer operationsWorking Environment:100% - Manufacturing environment; clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment where applicable RequirementsEducation/Training:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationHigh level of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem solving situationsStrives to continuously build knowledge and skills, shares expertise with othersActive listening skills while remaining open to other's ideasContributes to building a positive team environment and supports other efforts to succeedExhibits confidence in self and othersConsistently looks for ways to improve and promote quality and efficiencies Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditionsCompletes work in a timely manner with the ability to deal with frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected eventsBasic carpentry/wood working knowledge, familiar with small power toolsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of computer operationsTravel Requirements: No travel required Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and talk or hearRegularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 75 poundsAbility to determine color
