That’s why we need you—to help us make a significant impact by taking on increasingly complex challenges, leaping beyond the status quo, advancing our mission and making our One Team culture thrive.Join us as a **Director, Intellectual Property - Patent Agent/Attorney,** and you’ll be part of a culture that welcomes diversity, thinks differently to solve problems, works collaboratively as one team, and delivers meaningful innovations that impact people’s lives.**How you will make an impact**The Director, Intellectual Property - Patent Agent/Attorney will be responsible for patent preparation and prosecution while protecting and advancing Halozyme’s innovative life sciences portfolio.**In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:*** Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the biotechnology and life sciences fields.* Develop and execute global patent strategies aligned with business objectives.* Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses.* Collaborate with R&D teams to identify and protect intellectual property.* Manage relationships with outside counsel and coordinate international filings.* Provide IP guidance to internal stakeholders on product development and regulatory strategies.**To succeed in this role, you’ll need:*** Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related life sciences discipline is required; Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D.) in Biology or related field is strongly preferred. Along with Advanced degree, minimum 8 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, with a focus on biotechnology or life sciences (An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)* Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).* For attorneys: J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar.* Deep understanding of U.S. and international patent laws and procedures.* Experience with biologics, gene therapy, or molecular biology technologies preferred.* Familiarity with IP issues in the pharmaceutical and regulatory frameworks preferred.**In return, we offer you:*** Full and comprehensive benefit program, including an Employee Stock Purchase Program and 401(k) matching.* Opportunities to grow in a culture that prioritizes learning, development and progression through in-house programs and tuition reimbursement.* A collaborative, innovative team that works as one to amplify your impact—on your career, the work you do and patients’ lives.The most likely base pay range for this position is $180K - $252K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme.
