About the Role

The University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a skilled Clinical Nursing Professional to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. You will provide clinical leadership for other staff, serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care, and ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working within the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
  • Implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Program Graduate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, with a nationally accredited nursing graduate program.
  • At least 2 years of directly related experience, with a focus on patient safety and care.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers certification, with the ability to obtain within 30 days.
