We are currently looking for a Full Time Building Maintenance Aide to join our Cultural Center Facilities and Maintenance Facility team located at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.Summary:Responsible for the care and maintenance of all Chickasaw Nation facilities, staff and guests at the Cultural Center.Responsibilities:* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assigned* Identifies and corrects hazardous working conditions* Inspects furniture, walls and floor coverings; recommends needed actions to management to ensure that facility is maintained to premier standards* Completes work orders* Assists / helps perform major and minor carpentry work including the following: hang sheet rock; tape and bedding; trim work; install both primary and storm windows; framing; lay floor tile; install ceramic tile; Roofing: both patch and new; and cabinet work* Performs chemical application per manufacturer's instructions* Removes fixtures, such as pictures and electric switch covers, from walls prior to painting, using screwdriverCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical* Adjusting and maintenance of exercise equipment* Knowledge, skill and ability to operate hand implementsExperience:Essential:* No prior experience required.Education:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Hand tools* Power tools* Risk of electrical shock* Minor injuries, e.g. muscle aches, scratches, cuts or burns* Pass pre-employment drug test* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Sometimes work in confined spaces (e.g. crawl space, tank)* Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp* Operate hand tools* Manual dexterity* Operate mechanic tools* Frequently lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Moderately strenuous work* Sometimes work in small or cramped areas* May work day shift* May be on-call
