Key responsibilities include performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), defining reliability tests, and conducting failure analysis to gain insights into failure mechanisms.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and their effects on semiconductor lasers.
  • Define and execute reliability tests to evaluate the performance and longevity of semiconductor lasers under various conditions.
  • Conduct failure analysis using advanced metrology techniques to understand the root causes of failures and improve product reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements and preventive measures based on failure analysis findings.
  • Generate comprehensive reports documenting reliability test results, failure analysis findings, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in semiconductor laser technology to continuously improve reliability testing and analysis methodologies.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in reliability testing and analysis of commercial semiconductor lasers.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor laser failure analysis and metrology.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Proficiency in Telecordia standards and methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for semiconductor laser reliability testing.
  • Proficiency in FMEA techniques and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as JMP.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
