Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Job Details We are currently seeking an exceptional, dynamic, and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our boutique CPA firm. The COO will play a pivotal role in the overall management of the firm, ensuring streamlined operations, increased productivity, and the achievement of strategic goals. This is a permanent position that requires a leader with a strong operational background and a proven track record in managing and growing a successful organization. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the firm, ensuring efficient and effective execution of processes and procedures. Collaborate with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives. Foster a success‑oriented, accountable environment within the firm. Directly manage the firm's partners, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Oversee the firm's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and analysis. Develop and implement robust operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems to meet and surpass business objectives. Drive the firm's performance by enhancing revenue, reducing costs, and ensuring superior client service. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax optimization. Act as a strategic advisor on key operational and business decisions. Foster and cultivate stakeholder relationships on city, state, and national levels. Qualifications CPA Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in a CPA firm. Proven track record of managing a firm's operations, leading to increased productivity and profitability. Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws. Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting. Exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Proficient in using business software including Microsoft Office Suite and current accounting software. Proven negotiation skills, with a problem‑solving attitude. Ability to inspire confidence and create trust. Ability to plan, multi‑task and manage time effectively. Strong writing and presentation skills. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results‑orientation. Experience in planning, organization, and development. Excellent decision‑making and leadership capabilities. Adaptable to change and ability to handle pressure under fast‑paced and growth‑oriented environment.
